ASTM A194 2HM Heavy Hex Nut Manufacturing Procedure

Standard: ANSI/ASME B18.2.2

2HM Hexagon Heavy Nut are heavy-duty hexagonal nuts manufactured in accordance with ASTM A194. 

In this standard, 2HM represents ferritic grade.  It requires cold forging or hot forging processing, certain heat treatment (quenching and tempering).

And certain hardness 2HM Brinell Hardness HB 159-237.   There are strict test number, hardness test, load test and other requirements.

Nut grade shall be equal to or greater than the ultimate tensile strength of the bolt.
